January 20-21, 2020, field sessions of the working group and General Meeting of the Association of Legal Entities “International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” were held in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
By the decision of the General Meeting the composition of Managing Board of the Association was changed, Chairman of the Management Board “NC “Kazakhstan Railways” JSC Sauat Mynbayev in a unanimous vote was reelected as a Chairman of Managing Board of International Association “TITR”.
In the framework of the sessions, the report of the Association’s performance results for 2019 was presented to the participants of General Meeting, as well as development plans for 2020. The final report noted a significant increase in container traffic, where over the past year, 26 thousand TEU containers were transported along the TITR route, which is 70% more compared to 2018. The key driver for increasing container traffic through TITR was the launch of a new feeder service in the Caspian Sea between the ports of Aktau and Baku in April 2019.
As part of the work of the General Meeting, the session participants agreed on the development plans and volumes of cargo transportation via TITR (Middle Corridor), as well as tariff rates for cargo transportation for 2020. The TITR transportation plan for 2020 is also aimed at increasing the volume of container traffic – up to 35 thousand TEU.
Aktau Marine North Terminal LLP (Kazakhstan) and Xi’an Continental Bridge International Logistics Co., Ltd. (China) were accepted as the Associate members of the TITR Association.
For reference: Aktau Marine North Terminal LLP was founded in 2014 with the aim of increasing the growth of export-import and transit transportation of products of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, through the port of Aktau to the countries of Trans-Caucasian region, the Persian Gulf and the Russian Federation.
Xi’an Continental Bridge International Logistics Co., Ltd. was established on April 5, 2012. The founders of the company are the Administrative Committee of Xi’an International Port Area and Port Lianyungang Group LLC. The company’s total asset is about 100 million yuan.
